@Tony, hey man, thanks for stopping by my blog. I set up my sites based on how they teach over at Affilorama.com. I’m a little too paranoid to list my actual websites here right now (I guess I’m just afraid someone could find one and hack it or something), but I might change my mind once I have a more comfortable income.

Anyway, http://www.wowblackbook.com is one of Mark Ling’s websites (he runs Affilorama) and there’s a bunch of us that just build niche websites like these. Maybe you’ve stumbled across a few of them while searching around on Google…

Just came across your blog. It’s cool to see blogs from people who haven’t made it yet. I’m on the same 4HWW path as you. I’ve got a few ecommerce sites I’m trying out and tried my luck at an affiliate site.

I’m curious on how your set up your sites. Is there a post on it somewhere? We might be able to help each other out.

@Huddson, I deep link to the direct article and also to a related article on my site. So, if the article was on “how to get a woman’s phone number” I’d link to http://www.mysite.com/how-to-get-a-womans-phone-number/ and http://www.mysite.com/how-to-get-a-date/

Oh, almost forgot… I’m not really sure if any of my articles out rank my main site. I don’t really track the position of the articles. I have noticed that I get a fair amount of traffic from Ezine Articles, Self Growth, and Articlet though.

Hey Clayton,

I remember that you spun the articles and submit them to Ezinearticles. For the bio box there, do you link each article you submitted there to each page of the site or just the main URL?

And do you have any instances where the articles you posted on Ezine ranking better(or worse) than your site’s pages with the same keywords?

@Carl, Yeah those dry spells really suck. I can’t figure out a logical reason behind them. Why would you get like no sales for a week and then get 3 within a matter of hours? This is definitely a strange business…

@Huddson, Seriously, man, try to get some kind of software to help you with spinning. It makes it so much easier and faster. I like The Best Spinner and I think there’s also something else out there called Jet Spinner.

@Keith, LOL! If you think learn guitar is a competitive niche, try weight loss! I definitely got myself in over my head there. I just had one page make it to the front page of Google after almost six months and 50 backlinks just to that page. I’m definitely doing less competitive niches from here on out.

Yup, you’re absolutely right about the spinning and the aggressiveness. I underestimated the amount of link building needing to be done, especially in a competitive niche like learn guitar.

I’ve kind of done the opposite to building too many websites too fast. I’ve concentrated on one site whereas I should have started with 3 in different niches. I am trying to build a top quality site though so it’s going to last a long time and will hopefully reap rewards. I like to think I’m the tortoise against the hare.

I have recently started my second site in a much much less competitive niche.

Well, I was distracted quite a bit throughout the time with another “next best gadget”. i learned my lesson too…..

Very soon I’ll start spinning articles and will tell u how much I hate it too……LOL!!
