Started myself 3 months ago. Ran .86 of a mile.

Now up to 5+.

Hard work but I got an Android phone and it maps your runs, tells you how many calories you&#039;ve burned, calculates your average speed. 

It really does motivate you. If you use buddyrunner.com set it so all your friends can see your runs and that stops you from getting complacent and stopping. At least that&#039;s the theory.
