So, over the past several months, I’ve been really pushed out of my comfort zone and challenged to step up my game and take things to a bigger level than I thought I would ever really get to.
I’ve had the good fortune to meet some real game changers since my trip to Las Vegas in May. It scares me to do this, but I think the timing is working out just right.
But first, I want to discuss something that I’ve observed in my own wandering across the internet.

Note: This is a continuation of a discussion about Awesome Bloggers (people who believe that marketing is beneath them or that quality content should naturally do all the work for them without any marketing effort involved)
I meant to put this out last week, but I got completely snowed under with a deadline that has basically taken over my life for the past three weeks. Well, it’s all done now, so I feel like I can finally get my life back to normal.
Today, I’d like to talk about the second kind of marketer I see online these days. For the sake of this blog post, I’ll call them the Soulless Marketer.
The Soulless Marketer is the opposite of the Awesome Blogger.

From my observation, there seems to be two distinct kinds of marketers on the internet today.
I’m going to talk about one of them in this post. For the sake of this post, I will refer to them as the Awesome Bloggers.
Awesome Bloggers are people who get into this game because they, like many of us, probably read a book like the 4 Hour Work Week. It opened their eyes to a new way of living their life. They started some kind of feel-good blog about travel, quitting your job, or self-development while caught up in the thrill of leaving their job and vagabonding around the world.
They tend to over-use the term “awesome” (hence the name Awesome Blogger)
There is nothing wrong with Awesome Bloggers. I like them. In fact, I aspire to be one :)
The only problem is that many of them seem to be misled by a lie that has taken root in their collective unconscious.

Well, now we’ve done it.
Somehow, we’ve survived through the first 6 months of 2011.
Remember all those resolutions we made at the beginning of the year? Have they just become vague shadow in the back of our minds? Or have we actually made any progress?
For me, the past 3 months or so (since I did the 3 month 2011 update) have been an absolutely crazy ride. It seems like things have just flowed from one explosive moment to the next, taking me from sitting in a Motel 6 in Las Vegas, having beers with some pretty big name bloggers (why would they want to hang out with misfit like me?), and really pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.
Things have changed a lot in the past 3 months, and I think a lot of my goals may have shifted, but let’s take a look anyway…

There are two important things I wanted to write about today.
A lot has been going on lately. I created a product. I’ve been meeting some other people who are into marketing / blogging / etc., and I’ve basically been having an avalanche of new ideas.
That’s what I’ve focused on because that is what has been most real and on my mind, but I also fear that it may alienate some people who somehow stumble across this blog who aren’t SEO geeks, like me.
