Tim Ferriss Diet – Week 3

Tim Ferris Diet Week 3This diet has become incredibly easy.  I think the really challenging part comes sometime within the first week or two.  After that you just get used to eating beans, meat, and spinach all the time.  It still sucks that you never really feel full after a meal.

I’m definitely losing weight.  I feel very thin and wiry (keep in mind I was never overweight or anything to begin with).  My legs feel thinner, my stomach feels flatter.  This diet definitely works.  My girlfriend is losing weight too.  I apologize that I can’t do weekly weigh-ins, but I do not own a scale.  I will need to stop by my mom’s house this week, so I’ll do a weigh in-at that point.

I really don’t understand why people were complaining so much about this diet on Tim’s blog.  It has become a non-event for me.  I love eating black beans, split pea soup, and meat.  In fact, it can be quite tasty.  Every once in a while, I find myself craving something like rice or pasta, but the craving isn’t very strong.

In fact, I don’t even go that wild on my cheat days.  I just make sure I hit all the food groups that I’m not allowed to eat during the rest of the week:  dairy, fruit, grains.  For awhile my girlfriend was worried about getting scurvy from this diet, but we looked it up and it takes four to eight months of vitamin C deprivation to get scurvy.

I really can’t think of much else to say about this diet.  Basically I’m just following Tim’s guidelines to the T.  Plus, I’m used to it now, so there’s no “emotional struggle” to avoid eating pixie stix and Big Macs.  I thought this week would be our final week, but my girlfriend wants to keep doing this diet through November 6th.  I’ll see if I can do a final weigh-in sometime around then.

Hey Clayton! I’m glad you’re a Tim Ferris fan (like me) and I’m also happy that you and even your girlfriend are seeing success from his tips.

With organized and consistent effort, you can make positive changes in your life. I’ll be back soon to see the results.

Thanks for sharing this! Nice post headers by the way :)

    @ John,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog. Ha! Yes, I suppose you probably recognize those headers from Plugin ID. What can I say… I know PhotoShop and I have a lot of spare time, so why not put in some effort to make things look good?

I usually ate Pinto Beans on this diet in a tasty sauce. I think that kept me from feeling hungry (I also ate a large volume of food, although few calories).

In the end I lost just over 20 pounds in 3 months, while drinking wine every night. Not bad.

    @ Stephen,

Cool. I’m glad you’ve had success with Tim Ferriss’ diet. How did it feel coming off of it? I think it’s going to feel strange being able to eat whatever I want after having such a restricting diet.
