Website Building Update – Week 10

Website10Sometimes I feel like Sisyphus, that Greek dude that had to spend eternity rolling a boulder up a hill only to watch it roll back down and start all over again. Or maybe it’s more like Zeno’s Paradox, where I keep cutting the distance between me and success in half but I never quite reach it.

I am still not making any money doing this yet.

However, everything else is slowly getting better.  Website #1 had two pages finally crest onto the first page of Google for their keywords.  Traffic is picking up with about 25-30 visitors per day.  My first website finally got a Page Rank.  It only has a PR of 1, but it’s a start.

Websites #2 and #3 are starting to get better too, but of course they are lagging behind, being that they are a few weeks younger.

Website #4 is on the back burner because I’m trying to promote the first three more effectively.

This week has been committed to two things primarily.  First I have been spinning articles like crazy.  If you don’t know what article spinning is, be grateful.  It is essentially rewriting an article that you already wrote several more times.  Your brain turns to mush as you struggle to act as a human thesaurus generating a relentless stream of synonyms.  Eventually you succumb to a temporary bout of insanity and need to start dancing by yourself to techno music while mumbling bits and pieces of spun sentences.  Not a pretty sight.

I use these articles for the second thing I’ve been doing this week, which is submitting to article directories.  I have made an elaborate matrix “do-follow” article directories that I have been submitting articles to every day.  Each embedded with a shiny hyperlink or two pointing back to my websites.  I feed the article directories so that they have more content to fill up with adsense ads and in return I get a backlink from a PR 5 or 6 website.

Ezine Articles has been nicer to me since I’ve been at “Basic PLUS” status.  I can get most articles approved in under a week now.  I made a tiny mistake on one though, so I hope that doesn’t hurt my chances at getting platinum status (which gets your articles reviewed much faster).

Now I am basically out of articles to spin, so next week I am going to be hitting Website #4 hard.  After rewriting  articles all week I’m sure writing a few fresh, stand-alone articles will be a cake walk!

Anyway, below is my weekly sales report from Clickbank.  I am closing the gap, but I still have no regular cash flow to my bank account to show for it yet.

Oh well, there’s always next week.  Have a great weekend.
