Website Building Update – Week 13

Website13Here we are at week 13. I’ve always liked the number 13. Sort of my lucky number.

First I’d like to thank everyone that’s encouraged me over the past few weeks.  I have a strange personality where I can be flying high one minute, only to crash into the depths of despair the next.  It’s led me to sometimes suspect I am mildly manic-depressive.  I’ll leave that for the psychologists though.  Anyway, thank you for your support.  No need to worry about me though.  I’m used to my melodramatic emotions and I know that they are fleeting.  I would never just give up like that.

I’m also sorry I haven’t been very responsive to the comments on the blog lately.  I’ve been going through a phase where it seems like I just can’t stop working on these websites.  It’s becoming a strange passion that I simply can’t pull myself away from!

All this work is finally starting to pay off.

On Sunday, I went to see The Box with my girlfriend.  The movie was very Kafka-esque or like a Haruki Murakami novel, which I liked, but a little over the top as well.  Anyway when we got back home I logged into my Clickbank account only to see a green spike.  At first I just stared at it not really believing it was there.

Then it hit me.  I made a sale!  Upon closer examination, I actually made two sales for a grand total of $69.52.

Finally!

This is a very strange business.  I haven’t made a sale in almost two months, then I turn around and make two sales with in only  a few hours.  Damn!  Maybe things are starting to turn around!

I also got a $17 re-bill for something I sold months ago on Wednesday.

I’m liking these spikes on my sales report.  It looks much better than all those zeros from a few weeks ago.

Anyway, this week I haven’t done as much as I normally would due to Thanksgiving, but most of my time has been devoted to article marketing and building backlinks.  Overall, the Google rankings of my sites are more or less the same, so I don’t anticipate a massive flood of sale to start coming in, but I wouldn’t mind a pleasant surprise.

So, keep it up if anyone out there is trying to make some passive income online.  It takes a lot of time, but it’s small victories like this that inspire you to keep going.

Finally a little action!

Finally a little action!

    Hi Clayton

    Strongfarmer from AB here!

Its interesting to follow you journey.

Im very curious to know, how many visitors per day you are getting to your sites so far?

Hey StrongFarmer, I’m not really getting that much traffic. My first website is getting about 20-30 visitors/day, but most of those are from one keyword, which really isn’t that related to the niche (chalk it up to not doing my keyword research right in the first place).

The other sites are much younger and only getting about 5-10 visitors per day. Nowhere near what I would like to be getting.
