Adventures in Lifestyle Design from a Path Less Traveled
December is an important month. It’s the fourth month of affiliate marketing for me. Most of the people I’ve been keeping an eye on started to see things take off around four months in. I’ve got my fingers crossed.
I remember hearing somewhere that Yahoo and Bing don’t index websites that are under three months old. My first site just passed that mark and it’s starting to show up on Yahoo and Bing, which I hope will bring in some more traffic.
I’m also beginning to work on Website #5 which I really want to finish before the end of the year. So far it’s pretty fun. The niche is a bit different and I enjoy writing about it so far.
I’m also gearing up to buy five more domains for the next round of sites. One mistake I made with the first five sites was not buying high traffic keyword domains. I was led to believe that this didn’t matter. But once I started getting my hands dirty, I kept seeing sites rank for very competitive keywords simply because the domain was the keyword despite the fact that they had barely any backlinks or on-site SEO. One of my own websites even ranks for a keyword that I didn’t even intend of ranking for. Lesson learned.
I’ve already bought a domain for Website #6, which I’m actually pretty excited about. It’s a .com domain that has 27,000 searches a month and it’s a “buying keyword” to boot! If my hunch is right, this could be some easy money! Of course, I’ll still going put in the work to make a quality site, but why make things harder than they need to be?
Here’s my ClickBank sales report. My luck from last week has kept up a bit, which I am very grateful for. I made sales on Sunday and Wednesday. I honestly can’t say why this is happening. I’m very grateful for the sudden flow of sales, but I can’t justify it. My traffic levels are about the same and so are my SERPs. I hope it keeps up!

My luck keeps going
Congratulations on this development. Mine has no luck yet, it full of zeros. :-)
Thanks Walter. My luck seems to be drying up, but I’ve put a lot of work into my sites this week. Let’s hope it pays off. Good luck with you own efforts.
