Website Building Update – Week 22

Website22

I just past the 5-month mark doing this.

I’ve also started using a program called the Best Spinner to help with article spinning.  I found out about it from an Affilorama member.  It’s free while it’s in Beta testing, so I’ve been going crazy spinning as much as I can before it goes live on February 1st and I have to pay for it.  Using this software has been great.  I feel like some kind of really lame super-hero that has the power to spin an article in 30 minutes.  This week has primarily been an article spinning marathon.  Next week, or rather next month (!), I get to start using all these articles and submit them to directories.

Other than that, it’s hard for me to know what to write this week.  I had one of those a-ha moments a few days ago and I am in the process of overhauling my SEO strategy.  I think this will be extremely effective when I put it into action.  The only problem is I think I built too many websites too fast and now I’m starting to feel like I’m drowning in work.  So much to do.  I’ll write more about this if/when I know it works.

This week I crossed the $400 mark for this month.  This is really exciting for me because I just met one of my goals.  I remember hearing about a report a few months ago that said that 46% of internet marketers make less than $400 a month, and 17% make over $20,000 a month (I can’t seem to find the report, otherwise I would link to it).  Anyway, I’m in the top 54% of marketers now!  That’s pretty exciting.  Soon I’ll be able to pay my rent with all this IM stuff.  I guess it will probably take some time to get up to the top 17%…

Clayton I’m really happy that you crossed the $400 mark you are a living proof that all this works and I hope that one day I’ll reach where you are now.

    Thank you for the inspiration.

Looks like you’ve got the momentum going Clayton. Keep it up!

I’ve suspended my PPC at the moment (too expensive) so I’m going after 100% SEO traffic now too.

Would be interesting to hear your new SEO strategy if you fancy sharing it.

@Make Beats, Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m really not doing anything that remarkable, I’m just sticking to the original plan. Keep it up and you’ll surely make it at least as far as I have, if not farther.

@Keith, yeah I know what you mean about PPC being expensive. I’d love to get good at it, but right now I just can’t afford it.

I haven’t put it into effect yet, but my SEO strategy isn’t really that revolutionary on second thought. I’m just adding more moving parts and phasing it in a better way. It basically involves article marketing and a few web 2.0 sites. After I submit articles to the main article directories and the web2.0 sites, I submit to AMA. Then I’ll take spun articles to Free Traffic System and use it to build backlinks to Ezinearticles, Hubpages, Squidoo, etc. Then as a final step, I’ll use Article Submit Helper to blast out the article to an extra +/- 150 article directories.

It will probably take a few months to see the effects, but I think this will help a lot.

Thanks for sharing Clayton. Sounds like a good plan. I think you’re right – it will take a while to see the effects but that’s the nature of the beast I guess.

I have hired a part time link builder and she is doing a great job so far. mainly blog directory submissions, forum comments, blog comments etc. But again, it will take time to see the results.

@Keith, you’re using offshorealley, right? I’m glad that seems to be working well for you. I’ll definitely give them a try once I can spare the money. Right now though, I’m living only off of my dwindling savings and the money I’m making from affiliate marketing. I can only dream of the day I can pass off my linkbuilding to someone else!

Good thing you’re making more and more sites.

I fell into the trap of making like 2 sites then leaving things for like 5 months then wondered why was I not a millionaire already – then to make things worse I started buying heaps of other internet marketing courses. Then I finally realized that these courses were paid for by my Affiloblueprint sites. So after like wasting 9 months, I started making these sites again.

So keep making them is what I say!

@Jackson, Thanks for your encouragement! Yes, it is easy to get distracted by the next new “big thing” especially when the results don’t come as fast as you want them to. I fully plan to keep building these sites, but right now, I have way too much of a backlog of SEO chores, which is starting to overwhelm me. So, I’m forbidding myself from buying anymore domains until I can get my current sites up to speed (all seven of them!).
