Website Building Update – Week 33

Hot diggity!  I finished my Japanese language website!  I’m excited about this one, big time.  This is my first real “hobby” website too.  All the other ones are “problem” websites.  So I’m curious to see how this will fare.

Additionally, I’ve been churning out new articles for my older websites too.  Honestly, my biggest fear is that I’ll hire someone to spin articles for me, and they’ll be so good at it that I won’t be able to keep up and keep them busy.  I’m trying to build up a backlog of articles for them, I guess.

I don’t want to jinx it or anything, but I think website #6 got out of the sandbox!  Overnight all of my ranking jumped from around 250 to 11 or 12.

I’ve plotted out a set of about 25 keywords for each site to target for the “slow growth” phase.  I’d like to get each of my sites up to 50 articles each.  At that point, they should all be consistent earners.  Especially since my keyword research is a lot better than it used to be.

This week was pretty good.  Check out Sunday.  My first $100 day!

    Hi!

I found your blog via affiloblueprint sig ;) I’m there also but still never created a site Mark Ling style, however I built aff authority sites for physical products and had a huge success with them, since they tand to convert better than CB stuff.

How many sites do you have that generate that level of income? ;)

@Anton, Thanks for stopping by my blog. Right now nearly all my money is coming from one website, but I’m working to get my other 5 sites up to speed. I made a lot of mistakes when I first started out and now I’m paying for that. I went for keywords that were way to competitive and vague keywords.

I’m starting to sell some physical products too. I just finished a Japanese language website and I’m planning on promoting flashcards there. The commissions aren’t great, but I think you’re probably right. It would be easier to sell someone flashcards than some mysterious software program or e-book.

I checked out your blog. It’s really impressive that you’re making that much money each month! It really inspires me. It looks like most of your income is from SEO too, right?

    Clayton,

This is really impressive. Check my blog to see my recent sales. They are slow but again am outsourcing all my SEO work.

    Anyhow, I love your blog!
P.S did you get my email?
    cheers

@Zenji, Hey, sorry I didn’t get your e-mail. Did you use the contact form on this blog? That should have sent the e-mail to the right place. I get a LOT of AMA pingbacks too so it might have gotten lost with all of them.

    Hi Clayton!

Yes I did a lot of PPC but lost money with adwords trying to promote clickbank products.

Now all my sales come from pure SEO. Some mistakes occur indded but this is great that you didn’t stop and keep building new sites!

I’ve recently saw that one of my clickbank snipers started to generate some sales, total 160$ in the last month. Now building several more snipers could add a nice money ;) However, I think that affiloblueprint style of sites are more stable and typically sell more.

At least I always see many sales from good authority site than from 1-page sniper. Will check yuor blog ;)

Congrats on the 100 dollar day! Good luck on the category change.

    • Clayton says:

@Anton, yeah, I’ve been burned by PPC in the past. I’m gearing up to start an extremely careful adwords campaign once I make a little bit more money with SEO.

      @Dennis, okay. I’ll shoot you an e-mail.

@Su, thanks, I hope there are more $100 days in the future :)

  6. Great work Clayton! Keep it up man. You’re getting there. I had my first $100 day too this week although it’s all PPC traffic. I’m just not ranking SEO-wise for any buying words. Yet.

  7. Hey Clayton,
Got your email. Been busy but will definitely contact you.
Started my PPC campaign today – am nervous but excited!
    Talk to you soon
