I like where you are going with this. Thailand? I think that is a great idea! You can take a vacation while saving some money for a couple of months. Maybe a change of scenery is what you need after working so hard for so long (and a positive lifestyle change couldn’t hurt?).

@Huddson, yeah, I’ve heard a lot about the protests in Bangkok. Hopefully, they’ll get all that squared away soon. I definitely want to stop by all the island/beach spots in southern Thailand too. It’s good to hear a positive review of it. I hope they’ve managed to recover from the tsunami by now…

I’ve been to Phuket many times and it’s a paradise there!! Hope they rebuild the place after the tsunami and have apartments as cheap as Bangkok.

There’s still political unrest in Bangkok so other places like Phuket or Pataya might be a better choice. Bangkok is a bit dusty to my liking though it’s a nice city and things are cheap.

@Carl, Thanks for the encouragement. I still feel like I have quite a ways to go though. I’d like to get to at least $2,000 or $3,000 a month.

@Anton, Thanks, man! So far May is turning out quite nice. Who knows I might finally break $1000 this month and start paying off some of my debt…

@Javier, Thanks, I’m trying. Sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated when self-doubt creeps in though. I’m feeling good these days, though.

@Huddson, I checked up on it, and it was actually just a Market Samurai thing. Google somehow updated their homepage or something, and Market Samurai just needed a day to catch up with their tracking application.

The apartments are $100-$300 / month (3,000 – 10,000 baht). I was looking around on http://www.mrroomfinder.com. In Bangkok, you can pretty much only find small studios, but that’s fine with me. I don’t want to go to Thailand just so I can waste all my time in my room :)

@Dennis, Thanks man, I’m seriously thinking about it. I really don’t enjoy working for the census.
